STONE COLUMNS

Stone column installation is a convenient method for improvement of soft ground.

Stone columns are used to improve the infrastructure of roads, railways and buildings.

1

VIBROFLOT STONE COLUMNS

The Vibroflot stone columns are installed using a Vibroflot machine which is introduced by vibration and water jetting to the desired depth, then the ballast is loaded through the upper part of the machine. The machine compacts the ballast as it is extracted. The Vibroflot Dieseko machines we use have GPS technology and allow the loading of maps for precise installation.

GEOTEXTILE ENCASED STONE COLUMNS (Ringtrac®)

In very soft clays, in order to increase the lateral confinement of the stone columns, encasing the columns with high stiffness and creep resistant geosynthetics has proved to be a successful solution. This method, Ringtrac®, patented in Germany, involves the introduction by vibration of a bottom closed tube and then the geosynthetic material inside the steel tube. After the column is filled with ballast, the metal tube is extracted by vibration and the geosynthetic material prevents the lateral dispersion of the filling material, thus reducing the required amount.

STEEL SHEET PILES
Steel Sheet Piles are structural elements typically used in geotechnical works, as retention walls. They replace Diaphragm Walls and Secant / Tangent Pilots and they are installed much faster and in many cases at a lower cost.
DIAPHRAGM WALLS
Diaphragm walls are subsurface reinforced concrete structures formed and cast in slurry trenches. Excavation is accomplished by digging panels along temporary guide walls using a mechanical or hydraulic clam shell attached to a rig or crane.
CONCRETE PILES
We execute concrete piles for ground improvement under the foundation and for retaining walls, having the following technologies: CFA – Continuous Flight Auger, CFA with Vibrated Casing, Screw Piles, Micropiles, Precast Concrete Piles.
RIGID INCLUSIONS
Rigid inclusions are an economically advantageous form of land improvement. There are unreinforced concrete columns, installed to take vertical loads. Our teams can install Rigid Inclusions by vibration, using the Silent Piling method or using a drilling rig.
ANCHORS
We can install: Concrete Bulb Anchors, Duckbill Anchors (Metal Anchor), Tie-rods. Concrete Bulb Anchors are used to support retaining and support walls. Duckbill Anchors are used both for permanent and temporary cases.
DEWATERING SYSTEMS
Dewatering Systems are installations that allow excavating and constructing foundations below groundwater level, thus enabling dry work surfaces. Our company performs several types of dewatering works.
