Dewatering systems with the use of  dewatering wells are used in the presence of excavation in predominantly gravelly and stony soil  litotypes,  insidewhich there is a high water supply from the aquifer. These soils have very high average transmissivity so the extraction well  must have the characteristic of containing pumps of  large flows and diameter.

As part  of  the technology of  drainage wells,  we can outline two different  methods, that  influence the choice of pumping. The two different ways of dealing with the problem of  dewatering wells,  permit , the first to perform dewatering by gravity, the second to perform forced depression of the acquifer.
